        Born in Manchester, U.K., Raoul grew up in Ottawa and Bonn, Germany. After attending the Drama program at Canterbury Arts High School in Ottawa, he was accepted into the prestigious National Theatre School of Canada. Since graduating in 1996 he has worked extensively in theatre,
television and film. Bhaneja is one of the stars of improvised hit Train 48 (Global TV) which is shot and broadcast on the same day five days a week. Raoul has appeared as a guest star on CTV’s The Eleventh Hour, The Associates and has also starred in The Newsroom (CBC), Twitch City (CBC), Street Time (Showtime USA), The Famous Jett Jackson (Disney), The Jessica Holmes Show (CTV) as well several other TV series, MOWs and Mini series. Open Heart, directed by Laurie Lynd, in which Raoul stars opposite Megan Follows will air on the CBC in late 2004.

Bhaneja’s feature credits include the Genie Nominated movies Ararat directed by Atom Egoyan and Extraordinary Visitor directed by John Doyle in which he starred as John The Baptist opposite Mary Walsh and Andy Jones. Other apperances include Violet directed by Rosemary House, Cold Creek Manor directed by Mike Figgis, and Picture Claire directed by Bruce MacDonald. Upcoming releases include Godsend directed by Nick Hamm (starring Robert De Niro and Greg Kinnear), That Touch of Pink directed by Ian Rashid (starring Kyle MacLachlan and Jimi Mistri) and the title role in the short film Dermott’s Quest (starring opposite Sarah Polley).

In Toronto, Raoul appeared in the Dora nominated production of The Domino Heart at the Tarragon Theatre. Other selected theatre credits include Savage Sensuality at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London, U.K. (Christopher Plummer Artistic Fellowship Award), Sin City (2002 Canadian Comedy Award Nomination), The School for Wives (Soulpepper Theatre), Hamlet (Neptune Theatre), Speak (Praire Theatre Exchange) and two seasons at The Blyth Festival. He is also the leader of the Maple Blues Award winning band RAOUL and THE BIG TIME. They have appeared on Canada Am (CTV), Studio 2 (TVO) Breakfast Television (City TV) and Daytime (Rogers) and have recently completed recording their second CD entitled THIS IS THE ONE.
